Hi, I'm Linda G. Hatton. I work from my home office in the Los Angeles area. My education includes a copyediting certificate from University of California, San Diego; classes in developmental editing, manuscript evaluation, proofreading, and book mapping; and poetry, short story, and novel writing, including middle grade and young adult genres.
I also have an MFA in writing (with a focus on novel writing) from Goddard College. I've judged over 2,000 short screenplays, stories, and books for NYC Midnight, Writer’s Digest Self-Published Book & E-book Awards, Saugus Union School District (PTA Reflections), the Writer’s Digest Poem-a-Day Challenge, and another organization I can't yet reveal. My theatrical background (including my education in acting from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts) has given me a good understanding of character development along with an intuitive sense I use in my editing.
Fiction genres I have edited include mystery, fantasy, romance, children’s books, and more. Non-fiction topics include health, self-improvement, and medical procedures; film trivia and facts for app and web content; and biography and memoir.
